
This installation guide will show how to install a VW Golf R8 style led projector headlight from Dash Z Racing. The Golf headlights can be installed on to any Volkswagen Golf from 1999 to 2005. The low beam uses a H3 light bulb that can be replaced for a HID upgrade.

Volkswagen Golf R8 Style LED Projector Headlight Installation Guide
Step 1). Pop the hood and disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. Then gently pull on the corners of the grill to unlock it.


Step 2). Use the plier to disengage the grill latch by unlocking the clip. Then remove the grill. Next, remove the two screw pointed out by blue arrows.


Step 3). Romove the screws under the fender. Then remove the plastic pieces in the lower part of the bumper.


Step 4). Remove the screw at the top corner highlighted in the blue square.


Step 5). Lightly pull the bumper away from the vehicle giving it about a two inches in room. Next, unscrew the two screws on the headlight plastic shielding. Remove the plastic shielding.


Step 6). There are two screws under the headlights that also have to be removed. After, gently slide out the headlights a bit and disconnect the headlight plug found on the back housing part (highlighted in the blue square).


Step 7). Remove the stock headlights and place the new headlights in. Plug in the new R8 style Golf headlights. Make sure to tuck in the wiring so no wires get pinched.


Step 8). Once the new headlights are in place, secure the unit by screwing back the top and bottom two screws. Remember to also attach the headlight plastic shielding.


Step 9). Push the bumper back into place and screw in the two screws at the front to secure the bumper back into place.


Step 10). Screw in the lower screw then put back the plastic cover.


Step 11). Attach the fender screws. Pick up the grill and attach the grill latch. Place the grill back into place.


Step 12). Close the hood and turn on your new headlights.
