Back when I was a baby the Honda CBR 600RR was developed from the Honda RC211V MotoGP bike. Inspired by the Honda RC211V MotoGP bike the CBR 600RR was made to challenge every curve on the road. Underneath the shell of the CBR 600RR lie MotoGP technologies that were made available for the first time on a production motorcycle such as the unit pro-link rear suspension and dual stage fuel injection. The Honda CBR 600RR had the look of a street bike with the heart of a racing demon machine.

While it’s not uncommon for street bikes to utilize racing technology, this was the first time totally new technologies found their way to the production line at the same time they made their way to the professional racing grid. This is where I am going to tell you what the “RR” stands for in the name. The CBR 600 receives the “RR” for “race replica” because of its emphasis on racing characteristics such as an advanced braced swingarm, center-up exhaust system, and more aggressive riding position. With that said, with spring coming up, I can’t wait to see the new 2010 Honda CBR 600RR.
