Posted by Koneko Kumamoto On January - 29 - 2009

Good to see all you fellow Nissan fans here. As I mentioned last month I was going to cover and review the new Nissan 370Z. Let’s get down to business shall we? The new Nissan 370Z designed to replace the 350Z has a 3.7-liter V6, kick ass 270 lb-ft of torque, and 332 horses behind the engine. The Nissan 370Z also has CVTCS (continuously variable valve timing control system with VVEL (variable valve event and lift on intake valves. The Nissan 370Z which was developed under the code name C53D has been shortened significantly (4 inches) and going back to the 99-inch wheelbase, referred to as the ideal wheelbase.

The front of the car has been changed with boomerang headlights which look very similar to the new 2009 Maxima. The new projector unit uses new LED turn signals not like the old mounted bumper sets. The whole front of the car has a huge aggressive feel to it. With the new sharpen look the car leans toward more of a pointy look.

Now the rear haunches are most noticeable on the 370Z. It is punching out from the rear fender sheet metal. The roof cut line sweeps quickly to the rear and creates the outer edge of the new boomerang manner rear LED taillight. The rear wiper setup is gone, providing a much cleaner look to the rear hatch glass which itself has been reshaped and now tucks in between two channels forming the top edge of the deck surface.

The new interior seems to have a huge improvement over the 350Z and follows in line with current Nissan/Infiniti interior design. The new 370Z’s interior has an old classy 240Z feel to it. The instrument panel beltline remains low and wraps into the doors and the console sweeps into the center stack; design features from the original 240Z. The 3 spoke steering wheel is taken from the new 2009 Maxima as are the navigation and HVAC controls.

The 2009 370Z will come in two trim levels base level and touring edition. With the entry-level car listing at $29,930 I really need to go get one. Look for the new Z to hit dealers in the beginning 2009. Will someone please buy me one?
